I'm very glad to have this occasion to salute MycoZoom Biotech India for its first steps on the market and send my best wishes to reach its target, to tackle new ways in agriculture and in biotechnology.

Agriculture, still is a backbone of Indian Economy though Indian is advancing rapidly in Industries and Services. Globally Indian Agriculture is well known for its spices and condiments, Tea, Jute, cotton, Sugarcane and even fruits like Mango. India has became self sufficient for its Food requirements. But this is not enough to cater the need of growing population. The land under cultivation is shrinking due to several reasons. Challenge is to increase food production with shrinking land and growing population.

At Mycozoom, India, our aim is to share our experiences in improving soil health for betterment of Indian Agriculture through our various innovative technology products. We have set up our operations in India and will steadily introduce our innovative solutions. By strengthening our regional footprint in this industry, we will see benefits to people in India. Our activities are a powerful reminder that Indian innovation is on its way to compete effectively in the increasingly fast-paced and globally interconnected world. Globalization gives all of us new challenges. We see today, ideas and products generated in India have the potential to improve yields, quality and health for the farmers in India and worldwide. To realize that promise, we'll have to work together – Indian sience and German attitudes have to fit to unique products and solutions. We have to recognise the fact, the most important change is the growing recognition that the environment and agriculture are tightly bound together, and that one cannot be addressed without the other.

To meet demand from a growing population, global food production has to rise by 70 per cent in less than 40 years. Some of this could be met by reducing post-harvest and post marketing food losses - but the bottom line is that there will be more pressure on the land to produce. “Soil” the Fundamental in crop production has immense role in increasing food production. Unfortunately with the focus on other agri inputs like seed, Fertilizers, Pesticides etc., health of soil is neglected. Soil degradation and deteriorating soil quality needs to be addressed on top priority. Our European experience of promoting Biofertilizers in Agriculture has given us tremendous satisfaction in improving the soil health. Our innovative Biofertilizers are helping farmers of Europe in sustainable agriculture production. We can give tailor made solutions to the problem of farmers with our innovative technology.

The solution in the last decades has been very simple: „Apply better seeds, increase fertilizer and improve irrigation and yields will increase.“ But we figured out that there is no magic bullet, no secret formula, no easy way, that will allow small farmers to respond to climate change and grow yield overnight.

In our opinion the only way is to maximise the use of natural processes and ecosystems. We must reduce excessive use of external inorganic inputs as chemical fertilizers. This leads to an higher diversity of production technologies which will bring a mix of traditional and new technologies. Those are already taking root and being applied in a lot of countries. Smallholder farmers are on the way using them and they are working. These approaches typically lead to healthy soil that can retain moisture, nutrients and enhance biodiversity in soil life. The results are better yields, greater profits, improved climate resilience and reduced emissions.

We belive an increase in agricultural productivity is the key determinant for social development. Improvement in agricultural productivity gives millions of people security to have enough food and a sve income, which means food secured and improved living standards. On the other hand we have to retain sustainable farming. It is clear that there must be a fundamental reform of agriculture and food systems – we cannot continue on the current course. Especcialy while climate change is accelerating the speed change.

Ensuring that the the natural wildlife is protected, improve soil health, reduce the risk of flooding, dry periods and diffuse pollution means keeping the value of the natural capital of India. Out target is enhancing the profitability and competitiveness of Indian agricultural products by identifying new growth patterns, preparing for potential new solutions that might reduce toxic danger to the soil and food and to ensure that agricultural practices are responding to consumer needs while saving the environment.
